I have been on work in Munich for the last 6 weeks now and I would say that much of what the others have<a href="http://hzrsizvlrk.com"> metnioned</a> seems to be on the mark. It';s a bit touristy, but if the weather is nice, the guided tours (bus/bike/foot) can be nice too.Once you have done some of that and had the beer, then yes, I also find Munich to be just another large euro city. It seems the true beauty of this city lies in all of the nice weekend getaways that are just a top-down drive away.Anyway.... I look forward to your session in May.-LC

Hi Tom,great you visit this great city ! If you like beer you better stick to Augustiner, thats by far the best beer. All sueggstions made are good ones, well, almost all, I cannot imagine why getting a beer at McD should be a highlight. I';d advise you to visit the inner city with Viktualienmarkt, if the weather is fine, take a trip to the olympic tower (also already mentioned), great view. I found Munich to be just another large city. It';s well worth your while to visit some of the smellar towns outside Munich.If you have a car you can check out a little town called Rothenburg od der Tauber. Google it for more information. I don';t recall how far away it is from Munich but well worth the drive.It';s a must see.Also you can visit Neuschwanstein castle which is approx 1 hour outside of Munich. On the way to Neuschwanstein Castle you can visit the town of Oberammergau (the famous Passion Play takes place here) and Mad King Ludwigs Linderhof Castle.I agree with a previous poster, visit Dachau. It';s very sad and disturbing but something you will never forget visiting.Enjoy!
